The Spiritualists’ National Union today publish the results of nominations for the 2026 elected positions of President, Vice President and Elective Auditor.

We are pleased to share with members the results of the recent round of nominations for positions to the National Executive Committee (NEC) of the Spiritualists’ National Union.
Some important information regarding the procedure of SNU nominations, and subsequent steps:
- Nomination papers – electronic and postal – are sent out to all churches, centres and individual members.
- Anyone can be nominated. Members and churches are free to name and nominate whomsoever they wish.
- The relevant eligibility criteria for each position is included in the circulation sent out with the nomination papers. It can also be found on the SNU website.
- The eligibility criteria lists how many valid nominations an individual must receive to be eligible for election. For President and Vice President, this is 10 nominations. For Elective Auditor, this is 4 nominations. Individuals who do not receive the required number of nominations will not be eligible for election.
- Eligiblity criteria is assessed after nominations but before voting begins.
- Individuals who receive the required number of nominations are then asked to confirm they accept the nomination, are willing to stand for election to the position nominated for, and also meet the eligiblity criteria.
- Once all confirmations and checks have taken place, voting will open (timeline in accordance with the byelaws) and all churches and members will be entitled to vote for who they wish to elect to each position.
Members will be notified, in due course, which individuals have accepted their nomination, have passed the necessary eligibility checks and will appear on the final ballot.
We will also be publishing full candidate statements to help members with their voting choices.
