“Presenting ‘SPIN!’ the brand new SNU philosophy game for churches, centres & members to play and enjoy!”
The SNU Education & Exponents scheme are excited to launch a brand new project, aimed at helping to bring philosophy and the Seven Principles to churches and members in a fun, interactive fashion.
Starting with ‘SPIN!’ lite edition, we will later be rolling out a more involved version that will allow for more in-depth and gradual exploration of Spiritualist philosophy and the Principles.
Playing ‘SPIN!’ is simple – pick a subject, spin the wheel and have one of the Seven Principles randomly selected for you.
Then, bring the two together and discuss!
“How might the Fifth Principle, Personal Responsibility, guide our approach to Freedom of Speech?”
“What does the Second Principle, The Brotherhood of Men, suggest about Feminism?”
“How about the Seventh Principle, Eternal Progress Open to Every Soul, and Assisted Dying?”
How to play:
- Download the free ‘Instructions‘ pdf.
- Print off and cut out the Seven Principles cards* and different topics of discussion (we’ve included some blank ones so you can write your own).
- Spin the Wheel by clicking here.
- Discuss the Principle that the Wheel has chosen for you.
- Draw a topic from the bag (or select your own).
- Discuss what the Principle may teach about the selected topic.
*You can also purchase Seven Principles reference cards on the SNU store for just £1.50.
