Is there any evidence of maintenance being undertaken since your previous visit (if applicable)

External

Is the external condition of the building in a state of good repair?(Required)
Are there any visible cracks externally?(Required)
Is the roof in good condition?(Required)
Are all guttering, pipework and drainage in good condition and functioning satisfactorily?(Required)
Is the condition of boundary walls, steps, fencing and paths in a reasonable and safe state?(Required)
Do the windows, doors and other exterior timberwork appear sound?(Required)
Has the church had an asbestos survey conducted?(Required)
Is there a provision for car parking within the property boundaries?(Required)
Is there provision for disabled parking?(Required)
Are there any other reserved spaces within the car park?(Required)
If there is no parking on the premises, is there adequate parking nearby?(Required)
Does the church hold the policy with regards to trees on the premises?(Required)
Are the trees maintained on a regular basis?(Required)

Internal

Is the standard of decoration acceptable?(Required)
Are the fixtures, fittings and loose furnishings in good condition?(Required)
Are there any visible cracks in the walls and ceilings?(Required)
Are the floors level, even and safe for public use?(Required)
Is the condition of the floor coverings satisfactory?(Required)
Is the ventilation adequate, particularly in enclosed areas such as kitchens, toilets and boiler rooms?(Required)
NOTE: There are legal minimum requirements for the ventilation of gas/oil boilers. Please consult your approved engineer
Does the church hold a current boiler service certificate for possible inspection?
Is the heating efficient, reliable and serviced annually by an approved engineer?(Required)
NOTE: It is a mandatory requirement for gas boilers in public places to be serviced annually by an approved engineer. Portable gas fires are not recommended
Does the church hold the 5-year fixed wiring inspection report and certificate for possible inspection?

Health & Safety

Does the church have a Health & Safety policy?(Required)
Is the policy displayed on a public notice board?(Required)
Does the church display a copy of it's Public Liability insurance at the entrance?
Does the church sell cooked food? If so, you will need Level 2 Hygiene Certification and possible registration and visits from the Local Environment health for a health rating
Does the church manage possible Legionella?
Is the church insurance monitored to make sure it matches the actual needs of the church so that it is fit for purpose?
Does the church have a completed fire risk assessment?
Does the church have a responsible person to manage fire safety for both fire infrastructure maintenance and also to manage in the event of an actual fire and evacuation?
Is a member of the committee designated with specific responsibility for health and safety?(Required)
Are toilet facilities provided within the building?(Required)
Is there a kitchen facility provided?(Required)
Do the following areas/requirements meet HSE regulations?
Date of inspection NOTE: The church must provide a copy of this certificate to be held on file at Head Office. It is a legal requirement that these are carried out every 24 months
Date of inspection NOTE: The church must provide a copy of this certificate to be held on file at Head Office. It is a legal requirement that these are carried out every 12 months
Date of inspection NOTE: The church must provide a copy of this certificate to be held on file at Head Office. It is a legal requirement that these are carried out every 5 years to comply with NICIEE regulations for public buildings
Is the lighting bright and adequate in all areas of the building?(Required)
Do all the lights work within the building?(Required)
Is emergency lighting fitted and working?(Required)
Are correct fluorescent emergency exit route signs in use?(Required)
Are the emergency exit route signs visible in dim light?(Required)
