SNU Statement on members’ concerns regarding 2026 elections – Thursday 3rd September 2026.
“The SNU is aware that a number of members have raised concerns regarding the recent voting process, including reports from members who believe they did not receive the information required to participate in the ballot.
The SNU takes these concerns seriously and recognises the importance of ensuring that its electoral processes are fair, transparent and have the confidence of its membership.
A panel has therefore been established to review the concerns raised and to consider the circumstances surrounding them. The review will seek to establish the facts and ensure that the matters reported by members are considered thoroughly, impartially and fairly.
It would not be appropriate to draw conclusions while this work is ongoing. The SNU therefore asks members to allow the panel the opportunity to complete its review.
Members will be informed of the outcome, together with any appropriate next steps, once the review has concluded.
We thank members who have brought concerns to our attention and appreciate the patience and understanding of the wider membership while this process is completed.”
