On Saturday 5th July 2025, representatives from the Spiritualists’ National Union and The Mediums’ Voice podcast (our official sponsored podcast) spread the message that ‘Life Continues’ at the Union’s first ever Pride in London attendance.
Les Henderson CSNU (Vice President), Sean Taylor (Ordinary Director 3), Kyle Pedley (Head of Communications), James Underwood CSNU (Finance Director), Samantha Underwood CSNU (Healing Committee) and Michelle Mosley and Philip Robinson of The Mediums’ Voice Podcast manned the Union’s official stand at the busy Soho Square, nestled in the heart of London’s West End.
It is estimated around 1.5 million people flocked to the City to take part in the day’s festivities.
Sharing the message that ‘Life Continues’, the team spoke to many attendees, celebrating the progressive and inclusive nature of Spiritualism. For many who visited the stall, it was their first direct experience with Spiritualism, and the Union’s fantastic ambassadors did a wonderful job of promoting the religion, and of course, our wonderful churches and centres.
“The breadth and diversity of those in attendance at Pride, in the multicultural space that is London, is second to none,” explains Kyle. “It was nice to see that so much of what Spiritualism is about really resonated with so many of the people we spoke to. Not only mediumship and communication with Spirit, but also its philosophy, the championing of personal responsibility, stewardship of the planet, and working towards a collective good.”
“It was nice to see that so much of what Spiritualism is about really resonated with so many of the people we spoke to.”
President of the Spiritualists’ National Union, Minister Jackie Wright, had recorded a special video greeting for those who visited the landing page created especially for the event. Standees and roller banners on the stall directed visitors to this special page, which gave an overview of SNU Spiritualism, where to find your nearest church, and how to become a member.
“We have a rich history of pioneers who fought for the rights of every human being to live their lives free of stigma, free of constraint,” Minister Wright expressed in her video.
“Where it may appear on the surface we have freedom, we do sometimes at a cost.”

Over the course of the day, the team handed out a number of goodies, such as flags and keyrings containing the Union’s logo and the ‘Life Continues’ slogan, which proved hugely popular. Other attendees and even fellow stall holders on the day commented how busy and dynamic the stall felt. That, between the handouts, photography and live podcast recording, the stall had a real sense of atmosphere and ‘buzz’.
Michelle and Philip did roving reports and recordings as part of their popular The Mediums’ Voice podcast, and had a terrific time speaking to people and sharing clips throughout the day.
For Sean Taylor, Ordinary Director 3, it was an important, pioneering milestone in the Union’s history:
“Enjoying our first Pride in London event has been groundbreaking, and a resounding success,” he proudly shared.
“We have been able to reach out across LGBTQ+ communities, spreading the message of ‘Life Continues’. So many great conversations were had with so many people, who were encouraged to share their own thoughts and opinions on Spiritualism.
“Enjoying our first Pride in London event has been groundbreaking, and a resounding success. We have been able to reach out across LGBTQ+ communities, spreading the message of ‘Life Continues’.”
“As the Director for diversity and inclusion, I am so incredibly proud of the team and their hard work over the past few months. In collaboration with the Mediums’ Voice Podcast, we have created a truly pioneering event that will be a blueprint for future Pride events.”
The team behind the event have already begun looking to 2026 and beyond, with a view to attend other major Pride festivals in the likes of Manchester and Brighton. They are also formulating plans to help support churches and DCs in attending local Pride events. The group encourage anyone who is thinking of doing so to get in contact with either Sean or Kyle to discuss further.
Les Henderson CSNU, Vice President of the SNU, similarly reflected on what was a highly successful weekend, whilst acknowledging it is just the beginning:
“It was such a fantastic day, promoting SNU Spiritualism within the community,” he posted on Facebook. “A long, hard day, but the response, feedback and engagement was worth every minute.”
“It doesn’t stop here. We need to get that message out there to our churches and centres.”
And as the dust settles on a truly groundbreaking first for the Union, and the next step forward in bringing Spiritualism to an even wider audience, it’s all perhaps best summarised with Minister Jackie Wright’s closing words in her video:
“Celebrate life, and remember – it is is our uniqueness that is important in this life.”
